Welcome to Chambers and James
Matthews Children's Foundation presented a grant to the Olde St. John Episcopal Church with the support of Chamber and James Funeral Homes. This grant was awarded to the church for their ministry to Colliers Elementary School Back Pack Program. These funds were provided by the funeral home, based on each casket that was selected through their locations. "It is an honor to work with Matthew Aurora Funeral Solutions to help children in our community. This donation is not from us but it represents many area loved ones that chose our location. One more example of how we are not just a business but part of the community,” explained Eric Fithyan, Remembrance Planner and Owner. The funeral home matched the donation by Matthews each giving $1000.00.
On hand to receive the funds were to the left, Jessica Scott, Sandra and Richard Barber - representing the Church, Jeanne Ferrell - grant writer and former teacher, Eric Fithyan - Remembrance Planner from Funeral Home, Jo-Ellen Connolly - Principal at Colliers Elementary, Reverend Phil Van Dam - Rector of Church and Minster In Charge of the Brooke Hancock Episcopal Ministries, and Amanda Mohney – Funeral Attendant at the Chambers and James Funeral Homes.
Due to excessive flooding at the Follansbee Christian Assembly Church, they will be holding church services at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, at 10:30 AM every Sunday. Everyone is welcome to attend and support the congregation at this difficult time.
Our services to our communities began in 1916, with four generations of local families, to service with care and commitment to the Ohio Valley. At Chambers and James Funeral Homes, we have a tradition of providing professional service when our friends and neighbors are experiencing difficult times. Our caring staff is committed to provide guidance and support every step of the way—through pre-planning, burial and grief support. We know the people in our communities and the people know us. We are truly concerned about your well-being.
Our two funeral homes were converted from large private family homes. Our facilities offer a relaxing home-like atmosphere with spacious seating and viewing areas.
Each funeral is an opportunity to honor, remember, and celebrate the life of a unique individual. There are many ways to personalize a funeral. We are experienced in developing personalized services. When the funeral is over, our service to you does not end. We can assist in family matters such as veterans benefits, social security, and insurance claims.
We are the exclusive provider for Veterans & Family Memorial Care, Veterans Burial and Cremation Society, and Christian Burial and Cremation Society. Through these programs, we offer Veterans, Christians and their families special considerations in funeral planning.
We encourage you to continue to browse the numerous services that we offer for Traditional Burial, Celebration of Life Cremations, Veteran’s Cremations, Pet Services including Burial & Cremation, Pre-arranged Burial and Cremation Services, Monuments, Pre-arrangement Transfers and information available about Grief Support.
We can transfer pre-arrangements from other funeral homes to our family-owned Chambers Funeral Home or James Funeral Home. All you have to do is see us in action at a service or have a friend choose us to see the difference. At no additional cost to you and no confrontation with the other funeral home, you can stop by or call for assistance and we take care of it from there. Your peace of mind and satisfaction is guaranteed.
We are always here to answer any questions, concerns or comments you have about the services that we provide.
Our staff and facilities are available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by phone or by e-mail. Please feel free to contact us. Our phone numbers are 304-737-3551 and 304- 527-1717 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
